Zoe walks 45 miles for Magic for Smiles

45 mile walk · 29 May 2024
Magic for Smiles uses magic as a tool to support vulnerable and often traumatised children, often refugees.
They perform magic tricks for children who may be fleeing war and conflict, restoring a sense of wonder often lost and overlooked. They have impacted the lives of children in countries such as Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon.
I've been so moved seeing videos of children's eyes lighting up at these magic tricks.
The charity's website lists three main areas of benefit for the children:
emotional (happiness, sense of wonder, overcoming boredom, hope);
cognitive (analysis, imagination, concentration);
social (interaction, trust-building, self-confidence and self-esteem).
I'm walking the 45 mile Pendle Way in East Lancashire with my good buddy Lucy, across 3 days, from 29th May*
We are hoping to raise some money to support this amazing charity, which does invaluable work supporting some of the earth's most vulnerable inhabitants.
Please donate if you can. The more money I raise, the wittier my updates will become. And I can be very witty.
*Bonxie the ginger cat is purely eye candy and will not be coming with us, sorry
