Story
We’re taking on the UHY National Challenge and, this year, we’re swapping city streets for hills, trails and a lot of grit as we tackle the Peak District Challenge in support of Dementia UK.
Around 50 of us from across UHY are coming together to hike either a half or full marathon through the stunning (and seriously tough) Peak District National Park – all to raise vital funds for a cause that means a lot to so many - including me and my family.
As you know, mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's in 2016 and is now living in a care home as a result. Tris' Uncle Ian also sadly passed after a short battle with dementia and so it would mean the world to raise as much as possible for this amazing cause.
Every donation, big or small, will help Dementia UK continue their amazing work supporting families and individuals affected by dementia.
If you’re able to support me and the rest of the UHY gang, we’d really appreciate it – and wish us luck. We’re going to need it!
About dementia UK:
Following a vote across all our UK teams, we are delighted to announce that Dementia UK is selected as our national charity for 2024/26.
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia - it's one of the biggest health challenges of our time. Families affected are often left feeling exhausted and overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn. But with the support of an Admiral Nurse and Dementia UK, families facing the fear and confusion of dementia know they’re not alone.
Dementia UK is a charity that provides Admiral Nurses for families affected by dementia. Your donation means that we can provide vital advice and support to families and carers.
Over the period of support, our teams across our 20 UK offices will work in collaboration to fundraise as much as possible for this great charity. From national charity days and auctions to marathons, sweepstakes, and volunteering, we will go above and beyond to help this fantastic cause prosper.
