🏊🚴🏃 I’m taking on a Sprint Triathlon in just over 6 weeks to raise funds for the charity I work for, Phoenix Health and Wellbeing. And this one’s personal.

After living with chronic health issues following adrenal cancer, for the past 17 years, I know first-hand how much holistic healthcare and emotional support can transform quality of life for someone facing long-term health challenges. It can really make all the difference between being alive and actually thriving. It can be the difference between working or not, being a good partner and parent or not, or the difference between living a fulfilling life or not. Health inequality gets ever greater and as these therapies are largely provided by the private sector, only the most well off in our communities can usually access them.

Phoenix Health and Wellbeing provides counselling, complementary therapies, and wellbeing services for people in Leeds struggling with physical and emotional challenges with low incomes and I am taking part in my first ever sprint triathlon (at nearly 52) to help them continue to be able to deliver essential services and reach even more people.

This triathlon will be a massive challenge for me, I still can't do front crawl and I never did like running, but together we can make a difference!
