Running the London Marathon 2027 for Archie’s Army 💙

On 25th April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon for a very special young man, Archie.

Archie has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a rare, progressive, muscle-wasting condition that he was diagnosed with when he was just two years old. Duchenne gradually weakens every muscle in the body, meaning that over time children lose the ability to walk, before the condition eventually affects their heart and lungs. Although treatments can help slow its progression, there is currently no cure. (⁠Duchenne UK)

Despite everything he faces, Archie is one of the happiest, funniest and most determined young people you could ever meet. He continues to inspire everyone around him with his incredible smile, courage and resilience.

Over the years, Archie’s Army has worked tirelessly to raise funds to provide Archie with the specialist equipment, home adaptations and support he needs, helping him to live as independently, safely and comfortably as possible as his condition progresses. (⁠Duchenne UK)

Having had the privilege of getting to know Archie and his amazing family, I wanted to do something that would truly make a difference. Every mile I run in London will be for Archie and every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support his future and show this incredible family that they are never fighting this battle alone.
