Story
Last year, I fell in love with running, something I never thought I’d say. What started as a new hobby somehow turned into two half marathons, a 50k ultra, and now a ballot place for the London Marathon 2026. It’s going to be the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on, and since I’m lucky enough to have this spot, I wanted to use it as a chance to do some good too.
I’ve chosen to support the Roxi Foundation, a Swindon based charity that helps people access neurodivergent assessments and support. I received a late autism diagnosis myself, and it completely changed how I understood myself and my life. Growing up undiagnosed was confusing, it felt like everyone else had the manual for life and I somehow missed that part. The Roxi Foundation helps children and families get that understanding earlier, so they don’t have to go through the same uncertainty.
Before this next training block, I said goodbye to Brisbane and travelled around a few final parts of Australia, before heading out to Thailand. I ended up starting my marathon training while living and diving on Koh Tao, a tiny island only 7km at its widest point and very hilly, which has definitely made things interesting.
There have already been plenty of sweaty runs, and definitely fewer kilometres covered than I would have liked while juggling life as a busy divemaster, but that is not stopping me from doing this.
My goal is to raise £500 for the Roxi Foundation. Any donation, no matter how small, genuinely means a lot. Even £1, or the cost of a coffee or a beer, would not only help support a family, but also give me that extra push to keep going when it gets tough.
Thank you so much for reading, donating, sharing, or even just cheering me on from afar. It really means a lot 🫶
