Story

Hi! My name is Zoey and I am 13 years old. Scouting has been a big part of my life since I joined at the age of 6. It has helped me learn skills like camping, cooking, first aid, orienteering, teamwork, leadership and has helped me grow in confidence.

I have been chosen to represent the UK as part of Unit 6: North Scotland at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk in 2027. There are so many amazing Scouts out there and I feel really lucky and grateful to have this opportunity.

One of the things I love most about Scouts is how it brings people together. It doesn't matter where you are from, everyone has a place and you learn to work as a team, support each other and try new things together.

Outside of Scouts, I skate with the Aberdeen Synchronised Ice Skating Club. I have been lucky to be part of three fantastic teams - Lil Starz, Starz and Azura. Synchro has taught me that everyone is equally important and that supporting each other is what makes a team successful.

The Jamboree means a lot to me. It is not just about going to Poland; it is about meeting people from different backgrounds, building friendships and sharing experiences we will never forget. I love discovering new places and meeting people whose lives are different from mine because it helps me understand the world a little better.

To help make this trip possible, I need to raise £3800 to cover the cost of travel, food, accommodation, activities and Scout kit.

I have already completed my first fundraising challenge - the 18-mile Aberdeen Kiltwalk. It was tough but the support and encouragement I received kept me going all the way to the finish.

My fundraising journey doesn't stop there. Over the coming months, I will be taking part in more fundraising events and selling handmade accessories to help reach my target. Please keep an eye on my updates to see what I am doing next.

If you can spare anything to support this page, it would mean so much to me. Your support helps make this adventure possible and gives me the chance to learn from people around the world and bring those experiences home to share.

Thank you so much for your support!
