Story
Hi,
I am Zoi and I live with GPA vasculitis, a rare rheumatic autoimmune disease. It can be fatal if it is not treated early and correctly; it is certainly life changing.
This May, during Vasculitis Awareness Month 2026, I am taking on a personal challenge called "Move your way in May" — walking the dog, running, exercising, or simply moving more than 31 miles throughout the month.
Vasculitis has affected my mobility and I have good, bad and in-between days. In my good days I will be out and about covering my miles for the month slowly, in my own pace.
On all other days I will rely on two lovely members of my extended family, Eleni Kalyva and Ruari Milne, to do some miles for me!
Support is essential for everyone battling vasculitis. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in this movement by donating towards our target of £150 to help Vasculitis UK continue their invaluable work. Every step we take together brings hope and progress.
Vasculitis UK is a patient organisation that supported me through the most difficult part of my journey, a patient organisation that I now work for, a patient organisation that supports vasculitis patients, but also funds research in vasculitis.
Follow our journey throughout May as we share weekly updates filled with stories and pictures that reveal what life with vasculitis truly looks like. To learn more about this condition please follow the link: https://www.vasculitis.org.uk/
Let’s move together this May—walk the dog, run, exercise—just move! Your support can make all the difference.
