Impact Arts are working for the reduction of inequality through encouraging engagement in the arts. Across Scotland, vulnerable people’s lives are being transformed through the charity’s involvement in education, employability, wellbeing, justice, and play. I will be raising money for Impact Arts through swimming the length of the Glasgow Subway (10.5 km - 420 lengths of a 25m pool).

CASE STUDY: Brian

Brian joined Impact Arts in April 2021, aged 18. He was facing a variety of barriers to employment including anxiety, lack of confidence due to a speech impediment, and difficulties in maintaining a routine. He struggled with education and had dropped out of College as a result. 

At ImpactArts he was given the opportunity to help create an animated film through which he explored industry-specific software. Over 12 weeks, Brian’s confidence and drive grew rapidly and he developed strong timekeeping, attendance, attention to detail, communication, and IT skills. 

Through his hard work, he gained an unconditional offer to study Photography at Edinburgh College.
