We’re doing the Kilt Walk 🚶♀️🚶♂️🚶
A couple of brave Barclays colleagues (Maria, Przemek) and I have decided that walking 14.6 miles (23.5 km) in a kilt (or at least something resembling a kilt) is a perfectly sensible thing to do… 😂 all in the name of a brilliant cause.
We’re taking on the Big Stroll, starting in Clydebank and finishing in beautiful Balloch, Loch Lomond 🏞️. That’s around 5 hours of walking, scenic views, questionable life choices, and plenty of chances to ask ourselves “why did we sign up for this?” 🙃
So... why?
We’re doing this to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland, an organisation passionate about brain health and reducing the risk of dementia 🧠💪. Research shows that up to 45% of dementia cases could be prevented globally through simple health and lifestyle changes, and helping people understand and protect their brain health is at the heart of everything they do.
With your support, Alzheimer Scotland can:
Share empowering brain health information with older teens and young adults in colleges, universities, and workplaces across Scotland
Support people of all ages to make small, positive lifestyle changes that may help reduce the risk of dementia
In short: we do the walking, you help support vital brain health work — everyone wins (except our feet).
Thank you so much for supporting us and Alzheimer Scotland. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you 💜
