As you probably know, my sisters partner - Dax - died in March after fighting cancer for over a year. Dax was a warm, funny, interesting and very special brother-in-law to me and he is missed by us all very badly. 

In his final days, Dax was looked after at St Anns Hospice, near Stockport, and so I am raising money in Dax's memory as a thank-you to all the staff who looked after him so well.

This year I turned 40, and as a proud Yorkshireman, had planned to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks with my close school friends to mark the occasion. Its a 24 mile walk up 3 of Yorkshire's highest peaks and we're hoping to complete it in around 12 hours. We're doing the walk on Saturday 6th July.

It seemed a natural step to use the occasion to remember Dax and to raise some money along the way for a really good cause.
