Story
Why oh Why am I putting myself through this do I hear you say!
Honestly, because I feel like I am getting older and still need to push myself to the limits and a Half Iron Man has been a goal of mine for many years, whilst also raising vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
For those of you who do not know what it is, then here is a little breakdown for you.
You start with a 1.9km (1.2 mile) swim followed by a gruelling 90km (55 mile) Bike Ride, then you finish with a 21km (13 mile) run. In total about 7 hours of blood, sweat and tears.
To add a little more meat to the bones, I CAN'T SWIM. Yes, I have done a couple of baby triathlons but that was only a 400m swim, which I could happily doggy paddle round (I was last out of the water on my first one).
So as you can see this is going to be sooo much fun (for my supporters) and it is also for a great charity - Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
