In a nut shell; Myself and my colleague have had this bright idea of joinging the Mongol Rally. This involves driving from London to Mongolia -10,000 miles- in a car which costs less than £500 and is powered by a 1.0 litre engine or less. We have chosen a 1988 Fiat Panda (called Paula) for the intrepid adventure across 1/3 of the earth's surface. We leave the UK on Saturday 30th July 2005 from central London, in our beat up banger. We hope to make the 10,000 mile trip within 3 weeks ending up in the Mongolian capital of Ulaan Baatar. The route itself has not been finalised but will take on such places as England - France - Germany - Czech Republic - Slovakia - Ukraine - Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - Mongolia. Everything that we need for the trip will be carried in the car, fuel, tyres, tools, food and maybe even crash helmets, you name it we'll carry it ! No additional help is on hand, no support teams or engineering crew will help us - its just us 2, paula and 10,000 miles of some of the worst and most dangerous roads & dirt tracks the world ! We need to raise as much money as possibly for the charity, and any donations/help will be welcomed with open arms. So far everything has come out of our own pockets and we could really do with your support. We've bought the car, spent over 400.00 on getting her road worthy / MOT. Fuel, accessories, underbody strengthening, roof rack system and much much more has already been spent. But we now need help for the charity. We want to SMASH the target and really show Send a cow how much we care. So please dig deep and sponsor us now We are open to any questions or help you may need, just call !
