Story

The Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team is a team made up of dedicated, and highly experienced but UNPAID VOLUNTEERS who operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in extremely harsh conditions.

The team are unpaid, however to maintain the service the majority of their funding comes from fundraising and donations.

In 1993, Stephs brother Mark devastatingly died at Glencoe after a fall. The Glencoe Mountain Rescue team played a huge part both during and after the incident, something which both Steph and her family have always been grateful for.

Where possible they have continued to make donations to the Rescue Team as a small way of saying thank you.

I never knew Mark, however have decided to challenge myself to run 3, 10km races over the next few months to help fundraise so a donation can be made to the Mountain Rescue Team on Stephs behalf.

What have I signed up for?

" MY 30K IN THE GARDEN CHALLENGE"

Having not run for several years after a bad knee injury I have just started training again.

Originally I signed up to run three 10km races, however due to Covid races have been changed, postponed etc & there is uncertainty about when or if they will be taking place now.

So, I have decided that I am now going to complete all three 10km runs in the Garden, a total of 3000 Lengths 🏃‍♂️👟

Thank you very much for reading the story, and any donations will be greatly appreciated I'm sure, however big or small. 😊

And might even make my aches and pains worthwhile!

Thanks again

** REMEMBER LEAVE YOUR NAME IF YOU DONATE, AND TICK GIFT AID ALSO SO I CAN THANK YOU PERSONALLY. THANKS 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
