Story
Hi everyone thank you for visiting my Justgiving page.
I started this because I wanted to raise money to support those who went to do a difficult and dangerous job on all our behalves. Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity that does a lot to help our young men and women of the armed forces.
Well we did it. Dave and I did 900 miles in 10 days and climbed a total of 29600 feet. Nick Birtwistle who joined us in Cardiff did 1000kms in 7 days. We raised about £2200 from the general public while on our ride. The support we had was fantastic meeting lots of people who have family serving out in Afghanistan. We even had people chasing after us to stop us and give us their donations. Also this week another Nick from Saughall in Chester rode 130 miles round trip to work and back in some pretty bad weather. Apparently he got a puncture and had to walk for a couple of miles. So to all those who have sponsored Nick via this page thank you for your donations and supporting our wounded.
Afghanistan and the losses our troops is very much in peoples minds at the moment. I hope we have helped to increase public awareness of the charity and its purpose in helping those we don't hear about. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the conflict these are young men and women who have been sent by our govenment to put themselves in harms way, to help and protect others, whether that is us thousands of miles away or saving the lives of locals. They are all heroes and all those who come back deserve our respect and thanks and for those who need it our help and support.

I will leave this just giving page open for a little while. So if there is anyone you know or meet who wants to contribute to our fundraising please give them the link. It would be great to get over 5000!
Thank you very much
