Last year, family friends and colleagues had the sad news that PC 5401 Matt Collyer lost his brave battle with melanoma.
Without doubt this hit everyone close to him very hard, not least his wonderful wife and children.
It is fair to say Matt was an amazing husband, father, friend and colleague to a number of people. It's also fair to say he was an amazing cop with a positive impressionable attitude. His sense of humour was wicked and always brought a smile to the face of almost anyone he came into contact with.
Matt was a passionate fund raiser for cancer related charities and it is only right that we continue to raise as much money as we can in his memory and fitting that with Lou's blessing we attempt to raise 5401 pounds for melanoma uk.
We will attempt to complete numerous runs/events to reach this figure and your support in doing so will of course be greatly appreciated.
The first main event will be a bike ride from burton police station to the Isle of Wight, one of matts favourite holiday destinations to be completed in four days.
Pete fox, rich hardy, ben Harrison, mark jones, Steve smith, dickie Davies, Flynny and myself will be hoping to make it in one piece to raise a few beers on the Isle of Wight to a top man.
Your assistance, encouragement, support and sponsorship would be most appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to read about a man who was loved by everyone and is missed every day.
Matty this page is for you my friend x
