For the next five and a half months I will be training and fundraising for THE London marathon all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. I secured a golden bond place with Macmillan so I’m aiming to raise £3000 for them by getting my jog on in April and hosting a range of fundraising events in the run up to then! I’ve wanted to run the marathon since I was a kid, I watched it from the buzz of the sidelines and thought one day I want to do this. It's been a few years since I've put on a pair of running shoes but I'm up for the challenge and determined to raise as much as possible! Since working at Macmillan seeing first hand the amazing ways they support people in the toughest times of their lives I couldn’t think of a better time or cause to put one foot in front of the other and raise money for one of the most supportive and inspiring charities I know.  Whether they are there practically, emotionally or financially Macmillan are there for everyone living with cancer and their friends and families every step of way during one of the hardest and frightening fights they will ever face.  The work they do changes lives and I am running the marathon to make sure Macmillan can be there for more people in the future however they may need supporting. It is a cause that has deeply effected my family and I want to help ensure no one faces cancer alone, now or in the future.  So please dig deep to support Macmillan and keep me running on my 25th mile!
