Story

Update from the saddle, 19th September!

Hello Dear Friends

There's little over a week to go, and the nervous anticipation is escalating! I have managed to get some cycling miles behind me (though not enough I fear) by engaging in a variety of protests! First a City Airport to Heathrow ride to the recent Climate Camp, then an exciting cyclists action at the Faslane Trident nuclear missile base in Scotland, and last week out to Docklands to oppose the biggest arms fair in the world at ExCel. All adrenaline-pumping stuff, but none of it prepared me for the 60 mile up and down hill jaunt through Hertfordshire last Sunday - eek! Four days in a row of that to come, and with 80 miles on the first day, how did I let myself in for this?!

Well, quite simply because I really want to raise as much money as I can for Yes to Life, and I am hoping with your help I can make the demands of all those hills worthwhile. A big thank you to all those of you who have already contributed so generously. How marvellous it would be if even more of you could do the same, and help me reach my target figure. There are so many cancer sufferers out there who will benefit from your help, and for whom Yes to Life is a beacon of hope.

So do please give whatever you can and keep those pounds rolling in!

With many thanks,
Paula

Hi Everyone

Yes to Life London to Paris Bike Ride
September 27th - 30th 2007

It's not just any old thing which motivates me to cycle 280 miles from London to Paris in a mere four days, but Yes to Life has inspired me to push those pedals harder than ever with the hope of raising a lot of money for the invaluable work they do. Yes to Life provides much needed information for people with cancer on all the alternative treatment options available and helps to fund those in financial hardship to receive the treatment and care they need. They enable people to make their own well informed choices, helping to alleviate the many stresses of having cancer and aiding the best possible chance of recovery.

Cancer patients are often highly pressured at an immensely vulnerable time to undertake specific treatments irrespective of how effective they might be and without being made aware of the alternatives. The integrated approach and support offered by Yes to Life come as a huge relief to all those looking for informed and balanced guidance on how best to treat their illness.

One thankful patient summed it up:

"Our most grateful and sincere thanks to you and all your team for the generous award that you have kindly given us. I cannot tell you how very much it will help us at this time. It is uplifting that there are indeed people out there who are genuinely wanting to help others. We have been so dismayed recently that the more one tries to help themselves the more one is penalised .... So you can imagine how very much we appreciate your help."                             (see www.yestolife.org.uk)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Yes to Life will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now so that Yes to Life can help many more people in their vital work.

Many thanks for your support.
