Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

The reason our target here has been completed is because, when we started this challenge, the first third of our funds we have raised have gone to Parkinson's UK. Our total target remains £5000 and to donate to our remaining £3325.04 please visit:

The remaining two thirds of your donations are now going to The Cure Parkinson's Trust (Parkure) to fund medical research to find a cure and new treatments for this disease, and thus improve the lives of many.

Parkinson's Disease is a progressive neurological condition with no known cause and no cure yet it has the ability to take over peoples lives.

From a very young age I have watched the ongoing battle between my father and this disease and have decided it is now my turn to make a difference.

Both Jemma Stewart and Anna Egerton-King have seen the effect that this has had upon my life and I can't thank them enough for always being by my side and supporting me through thick and thin!

The route, from London to Edinburgh, is a journey I have done many times before, more than I can count, but it has always been by train. It is this route that connects me with my dad and I would like to travel it once again, but this time this connection will make a difference.

Parkinson's UK needs £70,000 every day of the year to fund vital work and is totally dependant on voluntary donations. Whilst our target of £5,000 is aiming high just £25 would enable us to run an education session in a hospital ward, £75 will enable a half-day Parkinson's nurse-led clinic, £150 is enough to fund a Parkinson's nurse for a day and £1,000 could fund a cutting edge research project for a week.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
