Life with a terminal illness can mean coping with pain, fear and loneliness. With your help, our caring staff can give local people and their families the support they need to live life to the fullest.

Story

On Saturday 25 May 2019...Sara Gay, Susan Joyce and Mary Markey are walking 26.2 miles - a full marathon! - from the M25 Uxbridge to Pembridge Hospice, Ladbroke Grove,  in central London.

This is in recognition for the dedication and the tremendous team at Pembridge Hospice. we would love to raise much needed funds to go towards this worthy cause.

The Pembridge team have been an absolute god send to my mother Vivien and Myself.

I wanted to do something to show our appreciation and say thank you for all the support and care the Pembridge team have given to my mum, myself and my family.

Last year I decided to do this walk in support of this wonderful charity,.

I have already completed a charity marathon for breast cancer last year with my friends Sue and Mary so when I told them what I’d like to do...they both immediately said to count them in, I am so grateful to them for their friendship and support.

Pembridge Hospice was mentioned one day  when I was with my mum and to my amazement  mum agreed to go!!

She loves attending and interacting with the ambulance crew, nurses, volunteers, and  all the wonderful staff and patients who she now calls friends.

Mum often says " it gets her out of the house" but we know its much more than that., it’s a life line...

Pembridge Hospice has the most caring, kind and compassionate staff...with an environment that is bright and full of laughter.

It has been hard to see mum going through this life limiting illness, and for a while I had no professional support to draw on at all.

At my lowest ebb, I called the hospice and spoke to a wonderful nurse, who listened and offered the support and help I so greatly needed, she called me back the following day!  Words can not express what  that call meant  to me.....someone cared.

I apologize for my rambling but I just wanted everyone to understand how much Pembridge Hospice means to me and my family. So I want to say a massive thank you for your support, kind and generous donations...... every little  penny counts...Much love  Sara x
