Story
Thank you for visiting our page! Please give your support to the two young teenagers who will ride Perdigau and Rafferty on the Cranleigh RDA Group Sponsored Rdie 2013 to help raise money for the charity. These two ponies are usually engaged in RDA activities along with their eight stable mates. For them the 11 mile Ride will be a big and exciting day out!
Their riders, Conor Howard and Alice Lee, are committed young volunteers with our group who give their time to help keep the ponies fit for the work that they do.
And that work is to give the opportunity to ride to over 200 children and adults with some sort of mental or physical difficulty. As last summer's Paralympic Games so clearly demonstrated, being disabled does not mean you cannot have enthusiasm or capability for sport. Riding is beneficial in lots of ways. It can make people stronger, fitter, happier and more confident at the same time as giving them a great deal of enjoyment.
All the money raised will go towards the upkeep of the ponies at Casi's Farm, their stable in Cranleigh. Keeping horses is an expensve business - feed, bedding, shoeing, tack, rugs, veterinary and dental care, physiotherapy, fields to graze and let off steam in - all are vital to the quality care we give our ponies. And there are many other costs associated with creating the right riding conditions and environment so that our riders can participate safely and happily.
We could not operate without the help of over 160 wonderful volunteers. Their time, freely given, is a critical factor in keeping our costs down.
Please help us continue to make a difference to the lives of those who come from all over Surrey and parts of West Sussex, whether it be with a school, Care Home or individually, to ride with us.
Thank you!
