Bupa Great Manchester Run 2009 · 17 May 2009 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

For the last two years, Claire and I have run the Great Manchester Run together. This year, however, I'm running it on my own, as Claire has the even greater challenge of having our first child!

Given that my last two months of training will be somewhat interesting with a newborn in the house, I'm not setting myself any personal best targets this year, but I do plan to get through in under an hour again despite the lack of sleep!

I know I've done this a couple of times now, so its no longer surprising that with sufficient training I can drag my gargantuan bulk round 10k, but please do consider sponsoring me as its in aid of a great charity, the Alzheimer's Society. Alzheimer's is a terrible affliction that affects not just the sufferer but also family, friends and carers, and the Alzheimer's society is doing important work in both care and research.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
