At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

This disease is often seen as natural. A routine part of the ageing process. It is not. This is a disease which afflicts all corners of society. Age. Creed. Gender. None of these are factors which determine who can contract it or why.

Families go through their lives to create and share memories. Alzheimer's is the opposite. It takes memories and our loved ones. Together - with help from your donations - we can find a cure and save lives. So all memories can be shared for years to come.

As a keen adventurer and wannabe athlete, I am ready to embrace this challenge. Taking on the likes of Heaven's Ladder and the rural parts of the wall. There will be treks through forests and literally thousands of steps carved in the great wilderness of China.

I have the privilege of being supported in this journey by QBE Insurance so whom I am an International Markets Claims Adjuster. The total raised via this page (both through online and offline donations) shall be matched by them accordingly as Alzheimers Society is QBE's designated charity of the year.

The joint target is £3300 as a result

As such please support as much as you can so my employer and I can help make a vital difference in the search for a cure.

£1650 is my minimum target to cover costs of the trip. Extra donations and the amount matched by QBE will go to the charity.

To give an idea of the difference our efforts make, £1500 will pay for a week of critical laboratory time investigating potential treatments. We can all make a difference, so please give what you can and thank you all for supporting me.
