Mount Everest Climb · 30 March 2010
“It is with great sadness that we have to report Peter Kinloch, a long standing supporter of OCD Action has died whilst realising his dream of scaling Everest. Peter was undertaking this climb, part of the seven summits challenge in aid of OCD Action and to raise awareness of OCD. All of us who knew Peter were inspired by him and his life and achievements will continue to inspire many others in the future.
Our hearts go out to his family and friends - The OCD Action team”
The aim of the trip is to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the charity OCD Action and the good work they do. OCD Action is the national charity for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and related conditions (e.g. BDD). They provide crucial support and information for anyone affected. OCD can be much more severe than many people think but there is effective treatment out there too. OCD Action’s work is vital in ensuring people get appropriate help as early as possible.
Previously I have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Mount Elbrus (Russia), Mount Aconcagua (Argentina), Mount Denali (Alaska), Mont Blanc (France), along with summitting Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier (New Zealand) in order to raise the profile of OCD Action. Let’s hope I can add Mount Everest to the list as I work towards completing the holy grail of the Seven Summits Challenge!
