Story
Some of you know Candice and I sponsor a young girl named Evelyn at the Tongabezi Trust School in Zambia. Opened in 1996 as a single open-plan classroom pre-school, “Tujatane” (as it is known in the local language Chitonga) now educates over 280 current students each year. Tujatane students have gone on to become everything from accountants to engineers, lawyers to clinical officers, and pilots to teachers. We had the privilege of visiting the school last summer and I was awestruck by the school's resourcefulness and creativity.
At the end of this month, I will embark on a journey to summit Mount Kenya which will be a five-day test of my physical and mental strength. I am doing a lightning round of fundraising for the climb with all donations going to support a special project at Tujatane: building a Textiles Studio & Art Center to teach women in the community skills they can use to start their own businesses and generate income.
I am setting a modest goal of raising $2000 USD in the next three weeks. The US Dollar goes a long way in Zambia, so any level of contribution will make a big impact.
Thank you for your consideration and your generosity.
