Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The reason I am doing this is basically because I need to pay my tab off at the Poet's...Ooooops, shit! Better delete that bit! lol

No seriously, my reason for doing this is to raise awareness of the importance of self checking and not being afraid to visit the doctor if you think something is wrong. I was foolish enough to put off going and as a result my cancer has spread to my abdomen, where I now have three tumours.

I have just finished my first course of chemotherapy out of three at the QE where I was put in the teenage cancer ward, as the adult male ward was full. I had two young lads opposite me, one age 18, one age 20, one with testicular cancer and one with lung cancer. They were less than half my age and it humbled me. They shouldn't be going through this at their age.

In the next two weeks or so I will start to lose my hair. I have decided to shave it off before it happens, so that I can raise some money to help others in a similar situation to myself. I know its January, and times are hard following Christmas, but I would really appreciate any donations made, no matter how small.

I can't thank you all enough for all of your support, your messages and calls have really picked me up, you have been brilliant to me and my family. Love to you all, Phil xxx

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.
