Hi my name is Hero and I am fourteen. I'm part of a campaign called Kids in the Middle. I want to help children if they are going through the horrible experience of seeing their mum and dad split up.

My parents divorced when I was 5 but didn’t completely split till I was 7 and then sort of fought over me till I was 9. It meant that up until that point home was sometimes like a war-zone.  Now they don’t see each other much and have reached a kind of truce.

I don’t really ever remember them being happy but I guess they must have been and that is why they decided to have me and my brother.

Kids in the Middle is a place where children can share any problems they face if their mum and dad separate. Children will be able to find re-assurance from their peers that their situation is not their fault and that it is OK to seek support. They will find expert advice and signposts to places where they can get further help of different kinds.
