Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please be as generous as you can and sponsor me.
My aim is to reach the top of Mont Blanc (4808 metres) during the first week of July 2007 with the help of an old friend and a Chamonix guide. (We tried and failed last year -see photo- due to weather conditions). Because I wanted to try again before turning this into a fund raising venture, I intend to meet all of my own costs so anything you donate will go straight to the charity. We particularly need funds for our expanding services for families and young people adversely affected by parental conflict. Further information can be found on our website: http://www.relaterkh.org/web/index.php
Donating through the Justgiving site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Relate Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please click on the "Donate now" button below and sponsor me!
Many thanks for your support.
UPDATE: 7th July 2007
Well, we didn't make it unfortunately despite our best efforts. The weather has been terrible for weeks so we were unable to train at altitude and were reduced to a single practice climb in Italy (Gran Paradiso). At about 3600 metres in deep snow and freezing wind, I had to call a halt with early symptoms of altitude sickness. We returned to the refuge from which we had departed at 4.30am. that morning. With our attempt on Mont Blanc due to start the following day, I had to bail out and accept that in these conditions this was perhaps a step too far! How I wish it could have been otherwise but I hope it won't deter anybody from donating to our services. We still have some way to go if we are to achieve our target sum and this page will remain active for potential sponsors until 2nd September. In the meantime my warmest thanks on behalf of RELATE RKH to all of those who have already given so generously.
