CMT United Kingdom is the UK's national support group for people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT). CMT is a hereditary, progressive neurological condition of the peripheral nervous system. In the UK it is thought to affect 25,000 people and is the most common inherited neurological disease. CMT causes disability as the muscles in the foot, lower leg, hand and forearm waste, which affects walking, difficulties with hand functions, balance and loss of reflexes.
