The British Gypsum Plastered Pirates are taking part in the Saint-Gobain Dragon Boat Race in Windsor on 12th September to raise money for Barnardos and support Future Place.
Future Place is by Saint-Gobain is the company’s first Community Training Academy that has been set up in partnership with Barnardos.
The ultimate goal of the initiative is to provide training for young care leavers in a construction setting to develop the skills to go on to work placements. The Academy is funded by Saint-Gobain and sees a group of young people take part in a 12-week traineeship to work towards a Level 2 Dry Lining qualification and obtain a CSCS card.
The Plastered Pirates are: Lizzie Sainsbury, Joanna Box, Sarah White, Fiona Bashford, Gemma Dupres, Tracy Ashby, Mel James, Jacqui Kersey, Maria-Niki Kravari, Sophia Palamianaki and Anna Spiliopoulou.
This is a very worthwhile cause and all donations are gratefully received, and we may even share some photos if we hit our £1,500 target!!
