Polly's Kilimanjaro Challenge

Kilimanjaro Challenge · 3 October 2014
As most of you probably know my passion for helping animals started from a young age and for as long as I remember I dreamed one day of heading to Africa and helping Virginia McKenna save an lion or two...... So when I found out about this opportunity, although not exactly what I had in mind all those years ago, I couldn't resist the incredible challenge.
Born Free takes action worldwide to save lives, stop suffering and protect species in the wild. They celebrate their 30th anniversary this year and I am delighted to be doing my bit to help them make it their most successful year ever. Throughout this time the difference they have made is truly inspiring. Looking at the bigger picture they make staggering differences whilst treating each vulnerable animal with the care and love they deserve and so badly need. Working with local communities across the world to raise awareness of the importance of so many beautiful species, at the same time they create income opportunities and a better quality of life for both humans and animals alike. Taking on huge Governments and powerful corporations to alter harmful working practices they have recently made huge steps towards finally banning wild animals in circuses in the UK and putting a stop to cruel Whale and Dolphin shows.
The determination and passion the Born Free team have is astounding and the important work they do makes positives differences every day. Do look in more detail about the current campaigns they are tirelessly working on at http://www.bornfree.org.uk - there are many simple ways in which you can help!
Taking on this challenge and doing so for a cause that is so close to my heart means a huge amount to me. I hugely appreciate that you have visited my page and I hope you are able to give even a small gesture to help me smash my target, reach the top (and hopefully make it back down!)
