Story

I really, really hate running. Ever since the immortal words of my senior school sports teacher "I'd bet you'd run faster if I was dangling a Mars bar in front of your face", I've been pretty traumatised by the thought of it.

I really, really love Chernobyl Children's Project. Not only does it make a massive difference in the lives of children and young adults affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, but it's also the charity through which I met my husband.

So this year, instead of having a romantic candlelit dinner, we'll be spending our first wedding anniversary running the Birmingham half marathon.

Donate for the amusement of seeing me run,

or because spending a first wedding anniversary doing a half marathon is ridiculous,

or simply because it's a really worthwhile cause.

But whatever you do, be generous! Thanks.
