Story

This year's Quiz is now SOLD OUT - look forward to seeing you there! Donations still open.

//

Following the success of last year's event, the project21forlife pub quiz is back on Thursday 20th April 2023. Last year we raised over £4,800 from this event alone and I'm hoping we can raise even more this year!

There will be prizes for the top 3 teams including a £50 bar tab for The Bedford, as well as plenty more opportunities to win in the raffle on the night. Once again, we’ll have our own room with bar with food and drink on offer.

My dad, the inspiration behind project21forlife, was discharged from St Georges on 21-12-21 following treatment for his recently diagnosed brain tumour. Grateful for the outstanding treatment provided by the surgeons at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, and the ongoing excellent care at the Royal Marsden - and mindful that less than 3% of cancer research funding annually is allocated to brain tumour cancers.

As ever, my dad is an inspiration and determined to turn life’s bad luck into something meaningful and important during these difficult times.

Funds raised will be donated to the John King Brain Tumour Foundation supporting the 'Forest in the Sky' roof garden adjacent to the Neuro ICU at the Atkinson Morley Wing as St George's Hospital, Tooting. The garden will provide a restful space for critical care patients, carers and loved ones trying to cope with the impact of extremely difficult and traumatic circumstances. The garden promises to have benefits for patient rehabilitation through becoming re-acquainted with the outside world and using their senses to stimulate the healing process.

About the charity

We support the Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital London who treat brain diseases and disorders. We aim to raise much needed funds to support the advancement of treatment and research and to purchase equipment for paediatric and adult neurosurgery not available through the NHS.
