Story
As many of you already know our third daughter, Purdy, has Down's Syndrome. For her and many others in Wandsworth and further afield physical endeavours are really tough and state funded support is limited. At our most worried, as new parents to a child with special needs, we found Small Steps and never has such hope and support been more needed nor more welcome. Inclusion, fun, passion and wisdom flow through this organisation which uses conductive therapy and physiotherapy to bring out the physical and emotional best in parents and their children. Small Steps now has a long waiting list of other families like ours, feeling their way through this new and sometimes complex world. The people at Small Steps don't like having a waiting list. It frustrates them as everyone there wants to offer services to those who need them as soon as they need them. Purdy can now creep, bum shuffle and even bum bounce as well as take weight on her chubby little legs and one day soon she will walk and all of this is in no small part down to this beautiful charity. As services and budgets continue to be cut in the public sector and individual needs are increasingly overlooked places like Small Steps will feel ever increasing demand from those who need support. Please help us to keep this service accessible to all who truly need it.
