Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.

Story

Push for Bliss is a buggy push which is not limited to mothers pushing buggies, but a push that welcomes all family members pushing prams, buggies, scooters, wheelchairs, wheelbarrows or anything with wheels for five laps of the park!

The event will take place on Saturday 17th July at 11:30am, King George V Park, Glasgow Road, Wishaw and is running alongside a Family Fun Day.

This charity and Unit are very special to us as we have all had one or more child who required the specialist skills and attention the unit had to offer and we want to give something back to a unit that in many respects gave us the chance to enjoy our children's lives.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Push for Bliss 2010 objectives are:

* raise general awareness of the Bliss Charity for babies born too soon, too sick or too small

* raise funds for Bliss to help the charity continue its great work in supporting families with a child in any UK Neonatal Unit by manning a support telephone line, providing literature to help parents understand the situation they find themselves in, fund important campaigns targeting improvements in neonatal care

* raise funds for the Wishaw General Neonatal unit to help fund provision of a family room that offers some home comforts and a welcome break from the stress of being on the unit, to also help fund provision of a support group and to create a volunteer travel network which will enable mothers who don't drive who have babies in the unit for many months to visit their child(ren) when the fathers have gone back to work and they have no means of transport.

Kind Regards

Angela, Lorna, Karen and Laura
