On 27th August I am going to attempt a 290km 10 day sponsored trek in the skeleton coast in the Namib desert, Namibia. It will be extremely challenging physically as I will be hiking across a hot, rocky, desert wilderness, walking mostly along animal tracks and camping over night. In the group (of 12) on the trek are two conservationists who will be tracking and studying the rhinos we (hopefully!) encounter on the way. The money we raise will be donated (via the Tusk Trust) to Save the Rhino Trust Namibia.
The Save the Rhino Trust Namibia was set up to protect the Desert Adapted Rhino (a rare subspecies of the Black Rhino) which roams a vast, otherwise unprotected area in North West Namibia. SRT works to conserve the rhino and the huge variety of wildlife found in it's unique habitat. It does this largely by supporting, educating and employing local tribes people.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save the Rhino Trust Namibia (via Tusk Trust) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please sponsor me and help to protect these extraordinary animals.
Thanks for your support!
