The 3 Peaks Challenge is an arduous event over Britain's 3 highest mountains.  Firstly the challengers must get up and down Ben Nevis in Scotland.  This will be conducted at first light in order that we can have the best chances of completing the challenge in under 24 hours.  After Ben Nevis we have to drive to Scafell Pike in the picturesque Lake District.  Once we have ascended and descended England's highest point the team must make best speed to Snowdonia National Park.  There, we will climg Mount Snowdon and try to get back to the bottom before the 24 hour window has closed.

This event has had its share of difficulties and the dates have often changes.  However, that is the nature of Army life these days.  All being serving soldiers they are subject to other commitments and unforseen circumstances have made it that only Dave Barclay and Ben Wakefield will complete the event.  The others should not be forgotten for their part in its organisation however.

The unexpected delays have somewhat worked to our advantage and given us more time raise more money for this most deserving of causes.

If you are wondering who we are, we are the Queens 4 Training Team from the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick, North Yorkshire.  Captain David 'Sparkles' Barclay, Sgt Colin 'Disco' Dance, Cpl 'Big' Ben Wakefield, Cpl Phil 'Pip' Sell, Cpl Steven 'Mad Cow' McCowliff and Cpl Chris 'Barnesy' Barnes .  We are the ones who are responsible for training young soldiers in order that they are prepared for Infantry life - be it in their Battalions or on operations overseas.   Send your sons to us.
