We need your help today. A donation to the Trussell Trust can help us better support food banks in this time of uncertainty.

Story

More and more people are being forced to use food banks because they cannot afford the basics in life. Last year, food banks in the Trussell Trusts network provided 1.6 million three-day emergency food parcels to people in crisis, with over 500,000 of these going to children. This was an increase of almost 20% on the previous year. Now, as the Coronavirus pandemic develops, its likely that increasing numbers of people will need support from their local food bank. As food bank staff and volunteers work to source and distribute food to people who need support, their resources are becoming increasingly stretched as they come under additional pressure. Were working closely with our network of over 1,200 food banks to work out how we can best support each food bank in the coming months to make sure that they're able to continue to help people in crisis in their local communities.

Rabbie's Tours was created by Robin Worsnop in 1993. He saw "a gap in the market" and he wanted to "create an ethical way [for people] to travel". His vision of small-group, more personalised tours has grown tremendously in 27 years! From one man and one bus to a massive staff of passionate/dedicated office workers, cafe workers and driver-guides and a fleet of Mercedes mini-coaches. Robin is committed to "making the world a better place through travel".

But, one aspect of Rabbie's separates us from the rest. Rabbie's gives back. Whether it is doing path building all over the country, planting trees, working with community groups, litter picks, our self-imposed carbon-tax where for every 1 tonne of carbon emissions we tax ourselves £10 or any other way Rabbie's gives back - it is proof that we are dedicated to giving back to the country that has given each of us so much.

However, with the Covid-19 pandemic the world has changed tremendously and it has effected every single persons way of life.

So, what we have done is created a Challenge for Rabbie's staff members. We are going to, collectively, walk the length of the Scottish National Trail - 537 miles - whilst on lockdown and adhering to lockdown guidelines on social distancing in 10 days.

While we do this, we will be asking for donations for The Trussel Trust to aid those who require the service of food banks to ensure their families and themselves can eat. Together we can stop UK hunger, but we need your help. Our goal is to raise £5,370.00, which is £10/mile. We know this is a big goal and times are difficult, but any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated. As a community and as a nation, let's join together and help those who need it. Let's show them we are all in this together and are there for one another.Let's all do what we can to help each other (safely) during this extraordinary time.

To all our NHS workers, all key workers, volunteers, individuals and families who clap for the NHS every week and every single person who does what they can to help make a difference - we, sincerely, thank you.

From all of us at Rabbie's Tours: Stay healthy. Stay safe. We look forward to showing you all our amazing country again soon.
