I am also running the BRIGHTON HALF MARATHON on Sunday 20th Feb (completed in 1hr 50 mins) and the SILVERSTONE HALF MARATHON on Sunday 6th March (1 hr 52 mins), to try and raise as much as I can for this great cause!
UPDATE:
January: BRING AND BUY PARTY SUCCESS, £142.95 RAISED, PLUS CAR BOOT BRINGING IN £85.50, A TOTAL OF £228.45 RAISED FOR THE HOSPICE!!!
A HUGE thanks to my work collegues who participated in my bring and buy event on Weds 26th Jan. Everyone brought in an unwanted Christmas gift, or an item no longer needed to donate to my cause... we then had a HUGE bring and buy evening in our marketing suite which raised a whopping £142.95 for the hospice...
Mum and I then took all leftover items, plus further goodies donated from Mum's work colleagues (thanks Hoebridge staff!!) to a carboot at the Winston Churchill School carboot on Sunday 6th Feb, raising a further £85.50!!!
FAB EFFORT ALL!! THANK YOU!!
March: STREET COLLECTIONS: GODALMING AND GUILDFORD ~ £108 raised! A BIG thanks to Mum who joined me on 2 FREEZING Saturday mornings to collect for the hospice!
March: CURRY AND QUIZ NIGHT ~ An amazing success, £800 raised for the hospice! A great night was had by all on 26th March. Thank you to the excellent quizmasters and our chef Saad and his assistant, who donated their time to cook us all a delicious curry! Congratulations to 'The Wong Answers' ~ our winning team and also to 'Team Devoil' who picked up the wooden spoon prize! (And yes, it was an ACTUAL wooden spoon!). A HUGE £800 raised for the hospice ~ THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
April: RAFFLE DRAW ~ Another great response with over £600 raised via the sale of tickets! Thanks again to all those who joined in and congrats to the winners! Another thanks also to the shopkeepers of Guildford and Farnham who kindly donated the prizes! (Apart from the Take That tichets which were my donation) :)
SPONSORSHIP SPONSORSHIP SPONSORSHIP!!
In the mean time, if you are able, PLEASE sponsor me! This is such a great cause PLUS I still have 26 miles left to run ~ a VERY long way ~ so PLEASE DIG DEEP AND GIVE GENEROUSLY!!
I am running the marathon this year to both to fulfil a life long ambition of mine, and, more importantly, to raise £3,000 for for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Please help me in my mission to make a contribution to this truly worthy cause!
Why am I raising money for the Phyllis tuckwell Hospice?
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice offers Specialist Palliative Care to adults facing the end of their life and to those who love and care for them. Please view the video on my page to find out more about the hospice and the great work they do. You can also visit their website at: http://phyllistuckwellhospice.org
My grandad Harold ('H') O'Grady was looked after by the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham for two months before he saldy passed away, and the staff there were AMAZING. These people truly are angels. Anyone out there who has been touched by the work of a hospice will know how important the caring they provide can be. Those they care for, their friends and family will always need and greatly appreciate this service and I am comitted to helping them to make sure others can benefit as my family and I have done.
The hospice offers their care FREE OF CHARGE to those who need them most. However, it costs the hospice £10,000 per day to operate, only 16 % of which is covered by the NHS ~ less than HALF the national average for hospices!!
Please give all you can towards this great cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT EVERYONE!!!
