We’re Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. By 2050, we believe everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But we need to act now.

Mamatha died aged 45, 2 years after diagnosis. She had surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Sadly none of the treatments gave any durable effect. New developments are constantly emerging, new trials offer exciting prospects. Nevertheless too many women suffer and die from breast cancer.

Despite being a doctor I was helpless when it came to my own wife. As a brain surgeon I currently treat quite a lot of women with brain metastases. I do my best to support cancer charities to help patients and families at all stages in this horrible journey. Hopefully we can make a brighter future.
