Don't miss your chance to be part of this one off night. While helping to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer, East Anglian Children's Hospice and The Odanadi project in India. Thank you for your support as always.
Facing one of my biggest challenges to date. Ravenwood Children's Trust is pledging to raise vital funds this year to support the Odanadi project in India, St Nicholas Hospice Bury St Edmund's and the Children's Ward West Suffolk Hospital.
Taking part in two massive challenges back to back! At 55 this year, will be tough on my body and mind!
The Tenzing-Hilliary Everest Marathon is probably one of the most gruelling challenges in the world. The journey will take me near 3 weeks to reach Everest base camp where the Marathon starts. I may endure unpleasant acclimatization symptoms, including breathlessness through lack of oxygen, headaches and sickness, sleep deprivation while trying to adapt to the altitude. It will be sub zero temperatures most of the day and night and living in the most basic of accommodation, Mount Everest really is one of the most unforgiving places in the world and at a height of 18200ft; this alone will make walking let alone running the enduring 26.2 mile Marathon a remarkable achievement for me.
My Challenge doesn't begin there however; just 7 days before leaving for Mount Everest I will take part in a 310 mile cycle race. This part of the challenge will see me join 100 cyclist to mark the 40th Anniversary of the 18 member's of the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club who lost their lives in one of the worlds worst plan crashes. Money raised will be donated to St Nicholas Hospice and the children of the Rugby club. Paris to Bury in just 4 days, if you see me our running or on my bike cheer me on please!
I will be running the Everest Marathon in memory of my close friend Stephen Brown.
ODANADI PROJECT INDIA. I recently visited India in November 2013 to see the progress being made to the project. I was honoured to meet Stanly and Parashu along with all the volunteers who help and run this incredible safe house. I was amazed and thrilled to see the difference made with the boys safe house. We only started supporting this project in 2013 and have already donated £10,000 to complete the building work. Odanadi is making a difference to the lives of children in India who have been affected by human trafficking. Children as young as 5 years old are taken from the streets or sold to the sex trade in India, the forgotten children. Project leaders Stanly and Parashu are dramatically improving both the health and education through participation in a rehabilitation programme ensuring the children forge their own lives independence and success. The project still needs to complete the food hall and conference centre with on- going cost through the year. We want to help raise another £10.000 to complete the project and provide the much needed safe environment the children need.
London10K. Ravenwood Children's Trust team will again run in the London 10k 13th July 2014. Last year the team did a marvellous job on one of the hottest days of the year. This event attracted 30,000 runners of all standards and has a wonderful atmosphere.
If you are interested in taking part please contact me email@example.com
Ravenwood Children's Trust Charity Ball will be held on 30th November 2014.
ADVENTURE ASHRAM .We will continue our support to this charity throughout 2014. We have seen what a difference it makes to children’s lives, sponsoring a complete class of 24 children from Mudumaiai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu, India for a year with the following for each child:
• 1 year of school tuition
• School bag with notebooks, pen, pencils, drawing books
• 2 school uniforms including socks and shoes
• School activities like dance, music and computers
• Regular health check ups and vaccinations
• Safe transport to and from school(vehicle and driver funded by Adventure Ashram as their route to school through the elephant corridor is too dangerous)
Should anyone reading this be interested in sponsoring a child for £150 for one year please let us know and contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Ravenwood Children's Trust was lucky enough to be invited to Waitrose, Bury St Edmund's on the 22nd December to help Christmas shoppers with their groceries for a small donation. We had a great day helping lots of lovely people and raised a staggering £1000!!! Thank you everyone
Gentlemen's Spirit Of Adventure Evening was a massive success! Thanks to everyone who supported us on the night... looking forward to the next event on 12th June with a Suffolk Countryside ride out with Krazy horse and then back to Ravenwood...details to follow.
So Craig has returned after completing the Everest Marathon! Amazing! more details to follow shortly.
Hi All, No word from Craig yet the Marathon was yesterday and we are desperate to hear how he got on, especially the Jarvis family at home. Please keep giving and show support! It will mean a lot to Craig on his return.
Craig is climbing to the village of Thyangboche today. Yesterday he visited a school for the children of Shepas. This challenge is so dangerous with one of the team members in intensive care and another being treated for altitude sickness! knowing you are supporting will help!
