After competing in the RBLR (Royal British Legion Riders) 1000 Mile event last year, finishing in 4 place, I have decided to enter the event again this year raising money for London’s Air Ambulance and RBLR. The ride starts on 22nd June & finishes on 23rd June, I will be riding continually for 24 hrs – last year I finished in 17.5 soaking wet & windy hours so my aim is for 17 in glorious sunny weather for 2013! I will need to be up in Leeds on Friday 21st for registration.

Last year I rode my Suzuki GSXR1000 motorbike and those of you who are familiar with bikes will know this was a challenge in itself. This year though I will be riding my Triumph Sprint 1050 GT.

The ride starts in Leeds, there is a North & South route which can be done clockwise or anti-clockwise, stopping at various checkpoints as proof of being there. The routes cover over 1000 miles and finish back at Leeds.

I did the North, Anti-clockwise last year so this time I’m going North-Clockwise:

1. Squires Cafe-Leeds. Start time 5am

2. Birch Services

3. Fort William

4. Wick

5. Edinburgh

6. Berwick-Upon-Tweed

7. Leeds - Finish

I will have a Tracker fitted to the bike so you will be able to follow my every move. I will add the link nearer the time so keep your eyes peeled.

I have chosen London's Air Ambulance as my main charity as this is something I hold close to my heart. If it wasn't for their speed and expertise at the road side, close friends involved in accidents would have lost their lives. The LAA is wholly dependent on donations to keep it in the air; if it wasn't for people like us then we would not have the urgent medical cover they provide so promptly from the air.

Last year I was just under raising the £1000 I aimed for, please help me this year to break the barrier... I would like to raise £1 per mile ridden.
