Let us tell you our story:

In May 2011 our mother was diagnosed with an unknown primary cancer and a secondary liver cancer. Throughout her treatment Macmillan cancer helped her and us work through her illness. They provided nurses including night nurses and community doctors. Sadly she died on the 23rd of August 2011. After this they provided family therapy. But her memory lives on. Our Grandad died on September 10th. His primary cancer was lung cancer and he also had liver cancer and spine cancer.

What we are doing:

We are doing reading nonstop for 48 hours but in a team. So we will take turns reading so the others can sleep and eat because i don't think it is humanely possible to read nonstop for 48 hours without sleep and food. We have also made instagram  ( @readathon_for_cancer) and twitter (@readathon) to also raise awareness. Other people from our family may be taking part reading for an hour while we have a break. Overall it means that somebody will always be reading for 48 hours. You can also get involved. Post a picture on instagram or twitter. Comment your book and how long your read for and tag us and hashtag #readathonforcancer. It will start at 12:00pm on the 22nd of October to 12:00pm  on the 24th of October
