Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
13th July this year marks 30 years since my sister and I lost our mother to cancer. She was diagnosed with a brain tumour and lost her battle with cancer very quickly. She was 30 when she died; as a child that always seemed quite old to me - now it feels scarily young and a little too close to home now that I am 31 and my sister is 33 and we both have two young children of our own. I can't imagine either of us not being around to watch them grow up.
So this year, to celebrate my mum's rather short life and to commemorate 30 years since she died, I am running a 5km Race For Life and walking the Shine marathon for Cancer Research, and running two 10km races and a half marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support (and anything else anyone can suggest?!). Emma is also running a 5km Race For Life, a 10km run and is walking the Shine Marathon with me. Both of the charities we have chosen are fantastic causes and we feel very proud to be supporting them.
