Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Stace will be competing on a 1969 Greeves challenger MX6 250 which
was part of a batch made at the request of Nick Nicholson the American
importer and top desert racer. The bike was made for desert racing in
the states, hence the 3.50/19 front wheel and desert gearing, it uses
the Challenger frame but with the new Griffon engine for 1969 and Albion
 4 speed gearbox.

I had only seen pictures of them until this came up on
flea bay. The crank and crankcases have had to be machined to take deep
groove ball race bearings as the originals ran straight on to the crank,
the slightest wear making it unserviceable. There are no factory
records covering the MX6 but i have been in touch with one of the
original greeves workers who has found the gearbox was assembled in
January 69 and then went off to the engine shop for fitment

Stace is raising money for cancer research to help fund research in
to this awful disease. Every little bit of research helps in the fight
to avoid the suffering that my late partner Marie had to endure along
with many others. Marie had a car run into her whilst riding her 1969
Triumph 500 Daytona, she lost her right leg in the collision and was
just getting to master her prosthetic leg after 5 long years, rejoining
Stace as pillion on his motorcycles when she developed cancer. She lived
for just 7 months after diagnosis and fought the disease all the way, a
lot of the time hiding her pain to ease others.

Red Marley is a standing quarter 440 yard dash straight to the top of
the hill. More information can be found at the official website http://www.redmarleyhillclimb.com/

Stace has only ever spectated at red marley and says “if i have just
one ounce of the grit and determination she had i might hopefully get to
 the top of the hill!”

Dan google red marley it has a site it will tell you the history etc
and its a standing quarter 440 yards etc 1 in 1.5 at its steepest
riders go 4 at a time the first two going through to the next round. If
hill is very muddy its who gets the furthest up it J
