The Free Representation Unit (FRU) is a charity dedicated to providing free legal representation to those who cannot afford to pay, before Tribunals in the Greater London area where legal-aid is unavailable. Founded in 1972, FRU is one of the country's foremost providers of free legal service.

Story

2016 is my 12th year as Legal Officer, Employment at FRU and my 10th marathon.

FRU's volunteers do much needed work in Employment and Social Security tribunals, helping hundreds of clients every year get access to justice. We can't help everyone, but we do help as many as we can.

FRU doesn't get government funding. It is through donations that we're able to keep the lights on and the photocopier going.

Running a marathon is really just an excuse to ask people to support us. Please help! Anything you can spare will be put to good use.
