In May I will be cycling Coast to Coast, traveling from the East of England to the West over 140 miles of hilly English countryside in three days.

This is in memory of Abi Owen, who at only 12 years old died in of a brain haemorrhage.  Her last few days were spent at Bristol Children's Hospital where she was given the best of care and her family the best support.  Their Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal raises funds to enrich and improve the quality of life for patients.

I really appreciate any small donation you make.

I'm running the Bristol 10k with a group of more than 30 women from my running group to support one of our group, Kelly Owen. Kelly tragically lost her 12-year-old daughter, Abi, in February this year who died of a brain haemorrhage. Her last few days were spent at Bristol Children's Hospital and we are working together to raise money for their Wallace and Gromit appeal. We all really appreciate your donations. We will all be running with Kelly on the day and thinking of Abi's family.

On 6th February 2013 all of our lives were turned upside down forever. Our beautiful niece Abi suffered a severe brain haemorrhage at home and lost her battle for survival four days later on 10th February.

During these days, where Abi continued to fight for her life, the support both she and the family received from the doctors and nurses at Bristol Children's Hospital was truly remarkable.

In death, Abi, who loved to help others, continued to help through the dontaion of her organs to 4 other people. This miracle brings us some comfort in these dark days.

Abi was, and always will be an inspiration to us all and it is her that has given me the motivation to attempt the Exmoor Coastal Trail Half Marathon. I will be running on behalf of the Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal, so that we can give a little back to the Bristol Children's Hospital who help save young lives on a daily basis.

Please don't feel obliged, but know that any donation, whatever size, will go to a truly wonderful cause.

On August the 11th Jacqueline, Nic and Philip are taking on the Cotswold 113 Half Iron Man at Ashton Keynes Water park to raise funds in Memory of Abigail Owen.

Jacqueline will be donning her wet suit once more to swim the 1.9 km first leg. Philip will take to the tarmac for the 56 mile bike leg whilst Nic will slip on the running shoes again to complete the task, taking on a half Marathon.

In February Jac and Philip's daughter Hope lost her dear friend Abigail Owen. Abi was tragically taken from her family at age 12 due to a brain haemorrhage. She was cared for by the staff of Bristol Children’s hospital and we are aiming to raise funds for Wallace and Gromit's Grand appeal.

They raise money for equipment used in the Intensive Care Unit at Bristol Children’s Hospital where Abi was treated. The team there work so hard every day to save the lives of children and young people and we'd like to make a contribution to that in memory of Abi.

Please give us whatever you can in memory of this brilliant young lady and we promise to give our all come August 11th.

I am running along with other members of our running group to support Kelly and her family who recently lost their daughter 12 year old daughter Abigail to a sudden and tragic brain haemorrhage.  She was cared for at Bristol Childrens Hospital which is why this charity is so important.

Kelly says: “Abigail was a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. We know that she loved to raise money for charity and having seen the value of the work done at the Bristol Children's Hospital during our short time there, we know that this is the right cause. Some families are there for weeks at a time, trying to manage their lives and be by their sick child’s bedside. The funds raised by the Wallace & Grommit Appeal (http://www.grandappeal.org.uk/) directly funds the equipment in the intensive care unit, which Abigail needed, and other vital areas of the hospital. While it didn't save Abigail’s life, despite every effort and care by the amazing team of nurses, doctors and consultants, it gave us a few precious days to sit with her and tell her how much we love her. We know the staff at the hospital would be hugely grateful for any donation given.

    Many thanks x

Although I only trained with Abi at Chi Wai Kung Fu for a few weeks and saw her for about 2 years training with my children, she had a way of lighting up a room with her smile. She was committed, fun, happy, brave, gentle, supportive and so much more.

Meeting and knowing Abi even for just this short time has changed my life and how I see things. To say thank you to Abi and her incredibly brave and loving family, I have challenged myself to walk/jog/run 100 miles in March (about 3.3 miles every day) to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit Appeal. I have chosen this challenge because it will be difficult for me and I wanted to show my gratitude by doing something significant. Please sponsor me. Abigail was and always will be a shining star, and a very giving child. Taken so tragically from this world and her loving family by a brain haemorrhage.

At her death, she donated her organs to help save the lives of four other children. An amazing achievement in itself that we know she would think was very 'cool'! She was always thinking of others' wellbeing. She was even baking and selling cookies for Comic Relief the weekend before her death and had raised £10 from that alone. We know that she would love to raise money for charity and having seen the value of the work done at the Bristol Children's Hospital, we know that this is the right cause. The funds raised by the Wallace & Grommit Appeal (http://www.grandappeal.org.uk/) directly funds the equipment in the intensive care unit, which Abigail needed. This page will be for all donations no matter how small. Please don't feel obliged but we know that many people will want to do 'something for her. If you'd rather buy flowers, please do, but while flowers fade and die, the work by this hospital will continue. We hope never to need their help again or know anyone who does, but we are so thankful for what they do every single day.

Thank you from Mark, Kelly, Abigail, Jennifer and Joe xxxxx

Hi all, please see attached link to my fundraising page. I'm hoping to raise as much money as I can for Bristol Children's Hospital in memory of Abigail Owen, who tragically passed away on 10th February after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Thanks for your support - Abi would really appreciate it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Abi, a young girl of just 12, suffered a sudden and severe brain haemorrhage. After a brave fight, Abi passed away, leaving her family and friends shocked and devastated.

Her family are taking some comfort in knowing that by donating her organs Abi helped to save the lives of four other children and spare their parents suffering the same loss.

My little girl Flo was friends with Abi and her sister and brother, and wanted us to help to support the charity in some way in honour of her friend. So I'm now running in memory of Abi and hoping to raise as much money as I can for this charity, which directly funds the equipment used in the intensive care ward at Bristol Children's Hospital. The amazing team there work unbelievably hard every day to save children's lives and even if they can't, as in Abi's case, they make every effort to give the children as much comfort and dignity as possible.

Please give whatever you can to help this wonderful cause, every £1 counts. Even if you can't give anything, thank you for reading this and thank you for sparing a thought for Abi and her family.

    Andrew

Abigail was and always will be a shining star, and a very giving child. She died on 10th February 2013 following a sudden brain haemorrhage. Abi was such a wonderful young person... fit, healthy, intelligent, with an infectious enthusiasm for life. She was a keen learner, an excellent swimmer, a dedicated martial artist too, having achieved her black belt just two weeks before her death. She was also a great big sister to her siblings, Jenny and Joe, and had a wide network of lovely friends.

At her death, she donated her organs to help save the lives of four other people. An amazing achievement in itself that we know she would think was very 'cool'! She was always thinking of others' wellbeing. She was even baking and selling cookies for Comic Relief a few days before her death.
