Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running the Cork City Marathon on Sunday 3rd June 2018 in aid of the work that Pieta House do in the prevention of self-harm and suicide. Their work is particularly personal to me and my family. My cousin Martin Sexton was a talented musician, a kind and warm-spirited individual and father who struggled with mental illness. Late last year, he lost his fight.
The work that Pieta house did for Martin towards the end of his life was vital to him and the family - offering care and support for him when he needed it the most.
My running of the marathon is a personal endeavour but I wanted to provide something back to the charity that helped him so much over the past year. I will be aiming for sub 3:30 - and with every minute that I am under this time - I will be personally donating...so I'd better be quick!
The 3rd June is also Martin's Birthday, he would have been 46.
