Berlin Marathon 2022 · 25 September 2022 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

From the age of 1, my Grandpa Jack always pushed me to be active. He was a big supporter of my sports and running growing up, as he himself was quite the runner.

He ran in numerous marathons, including completing Boston and New York, and was incredibly inspirational.

The last time I saw my Grandpa Jack, I was saying goodbye to go study my masters degree in September 2018. While he was quite forgetful in the last months I knew him, this particular goodbye was one of my favorite moments with him. He could understand that I was leaving to London, and held my hand as we listened to a piano player in his nursing home.

He is and will always be greatly remembered, and it's an honor to be running in his memory. Please consider donating if you can, to help raise awareness around Vascular Dementia!
