Story

Help more people beat cancer.

This year the MBDA Lostock Ladies ran the Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research. It was a 5K run at Haigh Hall on the 12th June 2011. All four of the girls completed the race in the pouring rain, dressed in pink and managed to beat their target of £800 and raise well over £1000.

'£1,000 could cover around 22 day's running expenses for an important lab project into a type of children's cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. The study aims to identify molecules that are involved in driving tumour growth, and this could lead to improved treatments so that more children survive the disease in the future.'

Cancer is something that affects everyone at some point in their lifes, whether it be through their own experiences or loss of a loved one. Cancer Research has already saved many lifes but there is still a lot to do. So thankyou so much for all the donations, sponsorship and anyone who took part in the 'Beth's Lost Trainer' sweepstake, it is all so appreciated.

There is still time yet if you'd like to sponsor us - either on the website or on one of our sponsor forms

Thanks again for everyones help and support, photos from the day to be uploaded soon !
