About Lauren:

Lauren is a happy and healthy 7 year old. This is mainly thanks to the medical profession and their work with Cancer Research. 4 years and 7 months ago Lauren was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia(ALL). She started a regimen of chemotherapy and remained on treatment for 2 years (standard for girls, boys have 3) and although there were nasty side effects at the time, they were not as intense as what would have been experienced 10 years before and the long term effects have been greatly reduced too. This is all due to cancer research. 30 years ago it was near enough a death sentence to be diagnosed with ALL. We have come a long way!

 There are a few photos on Lauren's page from before, during and after her treatment. I will change these over the next few weeks to show as much as possible of her fight. The pictures also show another very special person who unfortunately lost his fight. That is my dad, Eddie. Seeing him in the photos you would not believe how quickly he deteriorated due to Glioblastoma in just 6 months in 2011. I am accompanying Lauren on her Race for Life on 23 June 2013  and the date is even more poignant as my dad passed away on 23 June 2011. We walk for him. We walk for Lauren. And most importantly we walk for everybody because we are all affected by cancer at some stage in our lives, either directly or indirectly.

Please help Lauren reach her target of £300 to give something back to this very worthy cause. Even the smallest amount is greatly appreciated.
